The biggest gainers of the session on the were Shopify Inc (TSX:), which rose 7.59% or 126.75 points to trade at 1797.22 at the close. Lightspeed POS Inc (TSX:) added 7.23% or 6.44 points to end at 95.46 and BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:) was up 5.83% or 0.92 points to 16.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yamana Gold Inc (TSX:), which lost 8.17% or 0.49 points to trade at 5.51 in late trade. Alamos Gold Inc (TSX:) declined 7.82% or 0.84 points to end at 9.90 and Seabridge Gold Inc . (TSX:) shed 7.58% or 1.83 points to 22.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 713 to 342 and 86 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was unchanged 0% to 11.27.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 4.49% or 83.55 to $1777.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.44% or 1.04 to hit $71.11 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.68% or 1.25 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
CAD/USD was down 0.58% to 0.8096, while CAD/EUR rose 0.15% to 0.6799.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.76% at 91.903.
